Prezent, an AI-driven startup revolutionizing how business professionals create presentations, has raised $20 million in fresh funding. The company is pushing forward with its mission to simplify corporate communication by refining its generative AI models and expanding into new markets.
Creating slide decks often feels like a tedious task, especially when off-the-shelf AI tools fail to capture the nuances of specific industries. Prezent recognized this gap and developed a platform that understands sector-specific jargon, helping users produce professional presentations in less time.
Founded in 2021 by Rajat Mishra, a former Cisco and McKinsey executive, the Los Altos-based startup operates globally with a subsidiary in Bengaluru, India. Mishra, who overcame a stutter early in life, says his personal journey inspired his passion for communication technologies.
“The idea behind Prezent was simple — what if we could make business communication accessible and impactful for everyone?” Mishra shared during an interview.
At the heart of Prezent’s platform is Astrid, its intelligent AI assistant. Users can upload various assets — Excel sheets, PDFs, and links — and provide Astrid with context about their organization. They can also input team-specific terminology and preferences to personalize their decks.
Astrid analyzes a proprietary dataset of over 2 million slide decks, paired with fine-tuned AI models, to generate customized presentation suggestions. It even recommends layout designs best suited to the content and audience.
For clients on tight deadlines, Prezent offers a premium expedited service. This combines AI capabilities with human expertise — professional consultants and designers review drafts overnight, ensuring a polished, executive-ready presentation.
Currently, Prezent serves about 150 Fortune 2000 companies, focusing primarily on biopharma and tech sectors. With this latest all-equity funding round — an extension of its 2022 Series A — the company plans to target new industries like financial services and manufacturing.
Prezent also has global ambitions. The team is actively expanding into Europe, Japan, and Singapore, where it already boasts early traction. Southeast Asia is next on the list, with growth slated for Q2 this year.
Last year, Prezent generated over $10 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR), highlighting its strong market demand. Looking ahead, Prezent plans to roll out APIs that will let developers integrate its AI-powered presentation tools directly into apps, chatbots, search engines, and other platforms. This move could reshape how businesses create decks — automating the process within tools they already use daily.
Mishra emphasized Prezent’s lean yet impactful approach, noting, “DeepSeek proved that AI startups don’t need massive funding rounds to drive impact. We’ve embraced that mindset while building our team, now nearly 200 strong, with most working remotely from India.”
This new funding round was led by Greycroft and backed by Zoom Ventures, Emergent Ventures, and WestWave. New investors, including True Global Ventures (TGV), Manulife Ventures, and Alumni Ventures, also participated.
According to Mishra, this investment values Prezent at “well over $100 million”, signaling strong investor confidence in the company’s potential.
