Lagrange, a leading decentralized ZK proof network, has struck a landmark partnership with Matter Labs, the creators of ZKsync. Under this two-year agreement, Lagrange’s Prover Network (LPN) will handle up to 75% of Matter Labs’ outsourced proof generation, driving the ZK Stack’s evolution toward fully decentralized operations.

This milestone deal marks a significant shift in the zero-knowledge (ZK) landscape. By offloading the majority of its proof demands to a decentralized network, Matter Labs strengthens its commitment to scalability, resilience, and decentralization.

ZK Stack’s Leap Towards Decentralized Proof Generation

Earlier this year, Lagrange successfully integrated a decentralized version of ZKsync’s ZK Stack prover. This critical achievement proved that secure and efficient proof generation doesn’t have to rely on a single centralized entity.

Now, this new partnership cements that progress. ZKsync will shift a large portion of its proofing needs onto Lagrange’s decentralized prover network — something no other rollup ecosystem has achieved at this scale.

“Every rollup is destined to be a ZK rollup,” said Lagrange Co-Founder and CEO Ismael Hishon-Rezaizadeh. “ZK rollups deliver unmatched scalability, security, and cost savings, making them the backbone of next-gen decentralized apps. With this collaboration, ZKsync takes the lead while Lagrange scales decentralized proving like never before — without sacrificing decentralization.”

Lower Costs, Faster Transactions, and Enhanced Security

For ZKsync users, this partnership promises more than just a technological leap. It means significantly reduced gas fees, faster transaction times, and enhanced network resilience. Decentralized proving spreads the workload across independent provers, eliminating single points of failure.

Over the past year, Lagrange has proven that decentralized networks can outperform traditional, centralized systems. By increasing throughput and slashing costs, Lagrange’s LPN provides a robust alternative that strengthens network security and uptime.

As ZKsync ramps up demand, Matter Labs is banking on Lagrange to maintain seamless performance while scaling operations. “This collaboration boosts ZKsync’s Elastic Network, giving builders more tools for customization and resilience,” said Anthony Rose, CTO of Matter Labs. “Decentralized proving improves uptime, expands usable hardware for proof generation, and keeps our network adaptable as web3 activity grows.”

Lagrange Powers a Growing ZK Ecosystem

The deal comes as ZKsync continues to experience rapid growth. Today, the ZKsync ecosystem boasts nearly 25 ZK Stack chains, supports over 300 decentralized applications, and handled 1.3 million on-chain transactions just last month, according to DappRadar.

With Lagrange’s help, ZKsync is better positioned to scale further while keeping operations decentralized. This partnership also unlocks fresh revenue streams for Lagrange as it secures a massive share of ZKsync’s proving demand.

Other rollup-as-a-service (RaaS) platforms, such as Caldera and AltLayer, are already reaping the benefits of Lagrange’s technology. Both rely exclusively on Lagrange’s network to generate their ecosystem’s proofs, further validating the power of decentralized proving.

Why This Matters for the Future of ZK Rollups

This partnership signals a new era for ZK rollup ecosystems. Here’s why it matters:

  • Decentralization at Scale: ZKsync becomes the first major rollup to rely mostly on a decentralized proof network.
  • Lower Gas Fees: By decentralizing proving, operational costs drop — translating to cheaper transactions for users.
  • Enhanced Security and Liveness: Independent provers ensure continuous uptime and robust protection against outages or attacks.
  • Revenue Growth for Lagrange: Capturing more of ZKsync’s proof demand opens new monetization and expansion opportunities.

With ZK rollups positioned as the future of blockchain scalability, Lagrange’s Prover Network is paving the way for a decentralized, secure, and cost-efficient web3 world.
