Maine-based ConductorAI has raised $15 million in a major Series A funding round aimed at transforming how government agencies handle complex approval workflows. Led by Lux Capital and backed by Altman Capital, Haystack Ventures, Sunflower Capital, Humba Ventures, Also Capital, Forward Deployed VC, and Abstract, the raise marks one of the largest Series A rounds for a high-tech startup in the state.
At the heart of ConductorAI’s innovation is a mission to cut through red tape in government systems. Agencies across the U.S. face a mounting backlog of approval requests, outdated infrastructure, and sprawling policy documents. ConductorAI’s platform offers a smarter alternative by using artificial intelligence to automate the review process and reduce the time it takes to navigate government rules.
Their flagship product, Conduit, was built for high-security environments and is already being used by the Department of Defense, intelligence agencies, and other U.S. government institutions. Instead of poring through pages of policy by hand, government staff can rely on Conduit to instantly extract and apply key rules, approvals, and precedent. Acting like both an intelligent assistant and a domain expert, Conduit transforms rigid policy documents into usable insights.
What makes Conduit particularly powerful is its flexibility. It doesn’t rely on a single AI model, isn’t tied to one type of data, and can be deployed even in classified or restricted environments. This model-agnostic and secure-by-design approach allows it to support government missions without compromising compliance or control.
By integrating large language models (LLMs) and deep knowledge of defense workflows, ConductorAI delivers a practical solution that enhances both speed and accuracy in bureaucratic systems. The company’s co-founder and CEO, Zach Long, explained that ConductorAI is helping public servants identify the people, processes, and permissions needed to move projects forward. He emphasized that the goal isn’t just to support federal agencies, but also to make it easier for private companies to successfully work with the government.
With this latest funding, ConductorAI plans to expand its reach and deepen its capabilities — bringing much-needed innovation to one of the most rigid sectors of the American system.
